Summary:

The objective of this thesis is to propose a single cost effective solution that
merges many applications improving the efficiency and safety of the existing
transportation infra-structure in Egypt. The most promising systems to do so, is
the Electronic Vehicle Identification (EVI) system, we present the
implementation of two applications on that system: speed limitation and
electronic toll collection. The system succeeded to meet the requirements and
proved to be scalable.
