Project Abstract:
Our motivation is to design and implement the Cairo University Graphics Processing Unit (CUGPU), one of the first embedded GPUs in Egypt. We propose the CUGPU architecture based on Common- Lite (CL) profile of the Open Graphics Library for Embedded System 1.1 (OpenGL ES 1.1). We developed a MATLAB model and C++ model for CUGPU. We, then, generated VHDL-based RTL model. Next, that we compiled our design onto an Altera FPGA. Finally, we made a demo illustrating GPU performance.
